Oh goodness, the balloon has gone up…
I’ve decided to depart in about 12 hours North-wards. 2-3 hours driving in that direction is going to take me to the shores of Lake Pukaki with views of Aoraki / Mt Cook (13,000′). And on to Lake Tekapo with its Night Sky Reserve and centre of the Milky Way up for viewing (with the moon setting increasingly later each day this week).
So with a hint of good weather I’m busy sorting the van, myself and kit out ready for a quick road trip in that direction.
