Let me say at the outset that there is no chance that I will photograph this same shot every day…
But, that said, with my zoom lens knackered and currently out for repair and a 10,000 ft (almost) Mount Aspiring viewable from my lounge window, it struck me that I need to get some snaps of it (with or without the good zoom).
Hence I’m going to put up some daily pictures as I capture it in it’s different guises (it is Autumn / Fall here in the South Island of New Zealand). So snow is heading this way.

I got my zoom lens back from repair (almost didn’t – Canon left the top line of my address here off) after a month away for repairs.
Can you tell?

Well, frankly, the weather has been terrible here for the last few weeks. It is now officially ‘winter’ here so that is to be expected, but it did hit -4 deg C (24 deg F) the other week while I was staying in the van. So unless I was to post photos of cloud or fog, there ain’t been much to show and certainly no mountains.
In short, there has been very few pics because (take your pick):
(a) I’m lazy,
(b) It’s been cloudy / foggy,
(c) I’ve been away in the van or in Auckland,
(d) all of the above…

The view from my lounge seat:

Last shot on the Canon zoom (in for repair)

Sunrise just hitting the 10,000 ft peak

Captured just with the sun setting behind it.

Also from the 16/5, but the weather was (is) crap over the next few days, so here is a snap from the Lake’s edge.
* note the mist / steam rising from the creek.

The weather has not been playing the game recently. This is as close as I got to a picture of it. Note how much more snow there is on the mountain.

The sun is out again today, things look amazing – a fair bit of snow has been dumped on it (shot on Canon L lens).

Almost did not get the shot. Helicopter overhead twice but so many mistakes, this is the only shot I got.

Out for a walk today, thought I would take my daily picture from somewhere else.
